Here are some of the most frequently asked:
What can I expect during my first visit? 
-Please give us a call at 330-467-7945 to make an appointment that works best for you.
-When you arrive at The Emergency Assistance Center for the first time, you can expect a friendly greeting and a short intake process in our private client welcome area.
-All you need to bring with you is a photo ID (which does NOT need to be a driver's license) and proof of your current address.
-You will be accompanied by a trained volunteer who will be your personal shopper on your guided tour through our Center.  
-You will be invited to select the best food choices for your family in our grocery store, and then may visit our hygiene shelves and clothing boutique for each family member.
-If you need help with other necessities, a staff member will by happy to connect you to other local resources. 
What types of food donations do you accept?
We are grateful to accept any non-perishable, non-expired food items, such as: 
bagged, boxed, or canned items. We are also thankful to take any fresh produce items, such as home-grown garden vegetables, and any non-expired bread or bakery items, as well as completely frozen freezer food items. We also accept any baby formula & food, and supplemental food such as Boost/Ensure shakes, as well as pet food.
What kinds of clothing do you accept?
We are happy to accept seasonal clothing in any size, for all ages, including shoes:
-May-August we accept Spring/Summer clothing (including bathing suits and sports shoes); 
-September-April we accept Fall/Winter clothing (including winter coats, boots, & hats/scarves/mittens). 
We ask that all clothing be laundered and free of rips or stains. We cannot accept used underwear, although we can accept bras and slips. 
Do you accept hygiene items? 
We sure do! We gladly accept any unopened personal care items, such as:
 shampoo, soap, toothpaste, household paper products, laundry detergent, household cleaners, feminine hygiene items, razors, incontinence products, baby diapers, etc...
These are expensive items which are clients are greatly in need of as well and most are usually not eligible for purchase with food stamps. 
Do you accept household items, like linens and furniture? 
Unfortunately, we CANNOT accept any household items, such as: bedding, pillows, towels, curtains, lamps, kitchen utensils/plateware/cookware, or furniture due to space constraints.
Here are two local organizations which will pick up large donation items, such as furniture, for free, to distribute to those in need at no cost to them:

Are there any other items that you do accept for donation?
We DO gratefully accept:
-  Seasonal Clothing & Shoes
-  Unopened, Unexpired Food
-  Unopened Personal Care Items AND
-  Brand New Toys for Christmas Lane 
We DO NOT accept:  
- Household Items (Including: Bedding, Linens, Towels & Curtains) 
- Books
- Holiday Decorations
- Toys or Games (Exception: New Toys for Christmas Lane)
- Furniture
- Car Seats
- Open or Used Personal Care Items or Food (Exception: Individually Wrapped Items)
- Expired Food Items
- Homemade Items
- Food Items with No Labels
- Rusty or Dented Cans
- Alcoholic Beverages
If you have baby gear items, appliances or medical equipment (ie: cane, crutches) that you would like to donate, please call us at 330-467-7945 so that we may arrange for pickup or delivery with you and clients in need of particular items.
